But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless those that curse you, do good to those that hate you, and pray for those who speak evil about you, and persecute you;
Not defending yourselves, dearly beloved; but rather give place unto the wrath of God, for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. And be not conformed to this age, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your soul that ye may experience what is that good and well pleasing and perfect will of God.Therefore, if thine enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirsts, give him drink; for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamour and evil speaking be taken away from you, with all malice, and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another even as God has forgiven you in Christ.
forbearing one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a quarrel against another: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
If anyone says, I love God and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he that does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And we have this commandment from him, That he who loves God loves his brother also.
¶ Charity suffers long and is benign; charity envies not; charity does nothing without due reason, is not puffed up,is not injurious, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil,
not rendering evil for evil or curse for curse, but to the contrary, blessing, knowing that ye are called, that ye should possess a blessing by inheritance.
For if ye set men free from their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also set you free;but if ye do not set men free from their trespasses, neither will your Father set you free from your trespasses.
Not repaying anyone evil for evil; procuring that which is good not only in the sight of God, but even in the sight of all men.If it can be done, as much as is possible on your part, live in peace with all men.
But the fruit of the Spirit is this: Charity, joy, peace, tolerance, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
¶ If thy enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink, for thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the Lord shall reward thee.
¶ Therefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;¶ My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into diverse trials, for the wrath of man does not work the righteousness of God.
¶ But I say unto you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those that curse you, and pray for those who despitefully use you.
Whosoever hates his brother is a murderer and ye know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
Cease from anger and forsake wrath: let not thy wrath in any wise cause you to become evil.
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves; for charity shall cover a multitude of sins.
¶ He that covers a transgression seeks love, but he that repeats a matter separates very friends.
See that no one renders evil for evil unto anyone, but always follow that which is good, both among yourselves and to all men.
Nevertheless, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.Therefore I am certain that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to comenor height nor depth nor any creature shall be able to separate us from the charity of God, which is in Christ, Jesus our Lord.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, exercise yourselves in these things.
¶ Therefore, all things whatsoever ye desire that men should do unto you, so also shall ye do unto them, for this is the law and the prophets.
¶ Beloved, let us love one another, for charity is of God. Anyone that loves is born of God and knows God.He that does not love does not know God, for God is charity.
Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother should trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. In that day, he who shall be upon the housetop and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away; and he that is in the field, let him likewise not turn back.Remember Lot’s wife.Whosoever shall seek to save his soul shall lose it, and whosoever shall lose it shall cause it to live.I tell you in that night there shall be two men in one bed: the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together: the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Where the body is, there will the eagles be gathered together. And if he trespasses against thee seven times in a day and seven times in a day turns again to thee, saying, I repent, thou shalt forgive him.
and the hope shall not be ashamed, because the love of God is poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us.
¶ He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he that rules his spirit than he that takes a city.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, modest, benevolent, full of mercy and of good fruits, not judgmental, unfeigned. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace unto those that make peace.
rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
¶ The discretion of a man defers his anger, and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.By this shall everyone know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
¶ Then Peter came to him and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? until seven times?Jesus said unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times, but, Until seventy times seven.
I desire, therefore, that the men in every place, pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and strife.
For thou, Lord, art good and ready to forgive and plenteous in mercy unto all those that call upon thee.
¶ Brethren, if anyone is overtaken in a fault, ye who are spiritual restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself lest thou also be tempted.
¶ Be ye therefore imitators of God, as dear childrenapproving what is well pleasing unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which they do in secret. But all these things when they are reproved by the light are made manifest, for the light is that which manifests everything. Therefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest and arise from the dead, and the Christ shall shine upon thee.See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore, be ye not unwise, but understanding of what the will of the Lord is.And be not drunk with wine, in which there is excess, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking among yourselves with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and praising the Lord in your hearts, and walk in charity even as the Christ also has loved us and has given himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.
Then Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment and cast lots.
For judgment without mercy shall be done unto the one that has shown no mercy; and mercy boasts against judgment.
Let us, therefore, follow after the things which make for peace and the edification of each one to the others.
To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also; for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes I forgave it in the person of Christ, lest Satan should deceive us, for we do not ignore his devices.
Wait in the Lord and do good; live in the land and uphold the truth. The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue brings forth judgment. The law of his God is in his heart; therefore none of his steps shall slide. The wicked watches the righteous and seeks to slay him.The Lord will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.¶ Wait on the Lord and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the earth; when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.I have seen the wicked in great power and spreading himself like a green bay tree.Yet he passed away, and, behold, he was not: I sought him, but he could not be found.Mark the perfect, and behold the upright, for the end of each one of them is peace. But the rebels were destroyed all together; the wicked were cut off in the end.But the salvation of the righteous is the Lord; he is their strength in the time of trouble. In the same manner delight thyself in the Lord, and he shall give thee the desires of thy heart.
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Follow peace with everyone and holiness, without which no one shall see the Lord:looking diligently that no one deviate from the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up impede you, and thereby many be defiled,
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, into which likewise ye are called into one body, and be ye thankful.
¶ Having therefore left all malice and all guile and hypocrisies and envies and all murmurings,
¶ The merciful man does good to his own soul, but the cruel man troubles his own flesh.
But God increased the price of his charity toward us in that while we were yet sinners the Christ died for us.
¶ He that is slow to wrath is of great intelligence, but he that is short of spirit exalts folly.
¶ with all humility and meekness, with tolerance, forbearing one another in love,But ye have not so learned of the Christ,if so be that ye have heard him and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus, that ye put off everything concerning the old way of life, that is, the old man who corrupts himself according to deceitful desires, and be renewed in the spirit of your understandingand that ye put on the new man, which is created in conformity to God in righteousness and in the holiness of the truth. Therefore, leaving the lie, speak every man truth with his neighbour, for we are members one of another.Be ye angry and sin not; let not the sun go down upon your wrath, neither give place to the devil.Let him that stole steal no more, but rather let him labour, working with his hands that which is good, that he may have to give to him that is in need.Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good for edification, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.being diligent to guard the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
And now abide faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
¶ And believing, the God of hope fills you with all joy and peace that ye may abound in hope by the virtue of the Holy Spirit.
The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and of great mercy. The Lord is good to all; and his tender mercies shine over all his works.
For he that desires to love life and see the good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil and his lips that they speak no guile;let him separate himself from evil and do good; let him seek peace and follow it.
Let love be without dissimulation, abhorring that which is evil, causing you to come unto that which is good;
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye are not consumed one of another.
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good for edification, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
¶ Clothed, therefore, (as the elect of God, holy and beloved) with bowels of mercies, with kindness, with humility, with meekness, with tolerance,
¶ Judge not, that ye be not judged.Or if he asks for fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in the heavens give good things to those that ask him?¶ Therefore, all things whatsoever ye desire that men should do unto you, so also shall ye do unto them, for this is the law and the prophets.Enter ye in at the narrow gate, for the way that leads to destruction is wide and spacious, and those who follow it are many;because narrow is the gate, and confined is the way which leads unto life, and there are few that find it.¶ Keep yourselves also from the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit, but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit.A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.Every tree that does not bring forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire. For with the judgment with which ye judge, ye shall be judged, and with the measure with which ye measure, ye shall be measured again.
¶ For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, That we should love one another.
¶ Therefore, thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest; for in that which thou dost judge another, thou dost condemn thyself; for thou that judgest others doest the same things.
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in humility let each esteem others better than themselves, because for the work of the Christ he was near unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.with each one not looking to their own things, but also to the things of others.
And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy strength and with all thy understanding, and thy neighbour as thyself.
In charity there is no fear; but charity that is perfect casts out fear; because fear has torment; from which he that fears is not complete in charity.
Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my thoughtsand see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way eternal.
Owe no one anything, but love one unto another; for he that loves his neighbour has fulfilled the law.
Therefore, leaving the lie, speak every man truth with his neighbour, for we are members one of another.
Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
who, when he was cursed, did not return the curse; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but committed himself to him that judges righteously;
¶ Therefore, I beseech you brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies in living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing unto God, which is your rational worship.loving one another with brotherly love, with honour preferring one another;not slothful in earnest care, but fervent in the Spirit, serving the Lord, rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, constant in prayer, sharing for the needs of the saints, and given to hospitality.Bless those who persecute you: bless, and do not curse.Rejoice with those that rejoice and weep with those that weep.Be unanimous among yourselves, not high minded, but accommodating the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion. Not repaying anyone evil for evil; procuring that which is good not only in the sight of God, but even in the sight of all men.If it can be done, as much as is possible on your part, live in peace with all men.Not defending yourselves, dearly beloved; but rather give place unto the wrath of God, for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. And be not conformed to this age, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your soul that ye may experience what is that good and well pleasing and perfect will of God.
And if any of you lacks wisdom, let them ask of God (who gives abundantly to all, and without reproach), and it shall be given them.
¶ He who has knowledge spares his words, and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.Even a fool, when he is silent is counted wise, and he that shuts his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
¶ For the rest, brethren, that ye may have joy, be perfected, have consolation, be of one mind, having peace; and the God of peace and charity shall be with you.
¶ Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Turn thy way unto the Lord and wait in him, and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light and thy uprightness as the noonday.
So when they continued asking him, he lifted himself up and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him be the first to cast a stone at her.
Be anxious for nothing, but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God.And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
But the fruit of the Spirit is this: Charity, joy, peace, tolerance, gentleness, goodness, faith,
that there should be no contradiction in the body, but that the members should have the same care one for another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer together; or if one member is honoured, all the members rejoice together.
And let us consider one another to provoke unto charity and unto good works, not forsaking our gathering together, as the manner of some is, but exhorting one another and so much the more, when ye see that day approaching.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the lords of this age, rulers of this darkness, against spiritual wickedness in the heavens.
¶ Therefore if thy brother shall sin against thee, go and reprove him between thee and him alone; if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves; for charity shall cover a multitude of sins.Lovingly be hospitable one to another without murmuring.
¶ A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city, and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.
¶ Wait in him at all times; ye peoples, pour out your heart before him; God is our refuge. Selah.
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusts in thee.
In this we have known the charity of God because he laid down his life for us; we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
¶ We then that are stronger ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not please ourselves.
who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another even as God has forgiven you in Christ.
Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee; he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Let your conversation be without covetousness, and be content with such things as ye have; for he has said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another that ye may be whole. The effectual prayer of the righteous is very powerful.
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
We also exhort you, brethren, that you warn those that are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, support the weak, be patient with everyone.
¶ Deceit is in the heart of those whose thoughts are evil, but joy in that of those whose thoughts are good.
¶ Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be unanimous among yourselves according to Christ Jesus, that ye may with one accord and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
¶ For he is our peace, who of both has made one, breaking down the middle wall of separation,
And he said unto them, Take heed and beware of all covetousness; for a man’s life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.
¶ Do all things without murmurings and doubts, that ye may be blameless and innocent, children of God without rebuke in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world,
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff shall comfort me.
¶ The wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
Let your word be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer each one.
But thou, O man of God, flee these things and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, charity, tolerance, meekness.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Therefore as long as we have the opportunity, let us do good unto everyone, especially unto those who are of the household of faith.
¶ Pride shall certainly give birth to contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.
These things I have spoken unto you that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in the heavens.
