Yes, let them turn everyone from his evil way, and from the violence that is in his hands.Who knows whether God will not turn and relent, and turn away from his fierce anger, so that we might not perish?"God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way. So would you endanger my head with the king."Then said Daniel to the steward whom the prince of the eunuchs had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:"Test your servants for ten days; and let them give us vegetables to eat, and water to drink. Then let our faces be looked on before you, and the face of the youths who eat of the king's royal food; and as you see, deal with your servants."So he listened to them in this matter, and tested them ten days.At the end of ten days their faces appeared better and fatter than all the youths who ate of the king's royal food.So the steward took away their royal food, and the wine that they should drink, and gave them vegetables.

I gathered them together to the river that runs to Ahava; and there we encamped three days: and I viewed the people, and the priests, and found there none of the sons of Levi.
David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, "Please bring me here the ephod." Abiathar brought the ephod to David.David inquired of YHWH, saying, "If I pursue after this troop, shall I overtake them?" He answered him, "Pursue; for you shall surely overtake them, and shall without fail recover all."
So I have seen you in the sanctuary, watching your power and your glory.Because your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you.So I will bless you while I live. He prayed to YHWH, and said, "Please, YHWH, wasn't this what I said when I was still in my own country? Therefore I hurried to flee to Tarshish, for I knew that you are a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, and you relent of doing harm.
Oh taste and see that YHWH is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.Oh fear YHWH, you his holy ones, for there is no lack with those who fear him.The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger, but those who seek YHWH shall not lack any good thing.
My soul longs, and even faints for the courts of YHWH. My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
Let them praise YHWH for his loving kindness, for his wonderful works to the children of men!For he satisfies the longing soul. He fills the hungry soul with good.
There was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Penuel, of the tribe of Asher (she was of a great age, having lived with a husband seven years from her virginity, and she had been a widow for about eighty-four years), who did not depart from the temple, worshipping with fastings and petitions night and day.

Mordecai wrote these things, and sent letters to all the Jews who were in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus, both near and far,to enjoin them that they should keep the fourteenth and fifteenth days of the month Adar yearly,as the days in which the Jews had rest from their enemies, and the month which was turned to them from sorrow to gladness, and from mourning into a good day; that they should make them days of feasting and gladness, and of sending presents of food to one another, and gifts to the needy.

It happened after this, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them some of the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle. Then some came who told Jehoshaphat, saying, "A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea from Syria. Behold, they are in Hazazon Tamar" (that is, En Gedi).Jehoshaphat was alarmed, and set himself to seek to YHWH. He proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.Judah gathered themselves together, to seek help from YHWH. They came out of all the cities of Judah to seek YHWH.Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of YHWH, before the new court;and he said, "O YHWH, the God of our fathers, aren't you God in heaven? Aren't you ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in your hand, so that no one is able to withstand you.Did you not, our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and give it to the seed of Abraham your friend forever? They lived in it, and have built you a sanctuary in it for your name, saying,'If evil comes on usthe sword, judgment, pestilence, or faminewe will stand before this house, and before you, (for your name is in this house), and cry to you in our affliction, and you will hear and save.'Now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir, whom you would not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned aside from them, and did not destroy them;behold, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of your possession, which you have given us to inherit. Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no might against this great company that comes against us; neither know we what to do, but our eyes are on you."All Judah stood before YHWH, with their little ones, their wives, and their children. Then the Spirit of YHWH came on Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, the Levite, of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly;and he said, "Listen, all Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you king Jehoshaphat. Thus says YHWH to you, 'Do not be afraid, neither be dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.Tomorrow go down against them. Behold, they are coming up by the ascent of Ziz. You shall find them at the end of the valley, before the wilderness of Jeruel. You will not need to fight this battle. Set yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of YHWH with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed. Go out against them tomorrow, for YHWH is with you.'"Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground; and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before YHWH, worshipping YHWH.The Levites, of the children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites, stood up to praise YHWH, the God of Israel, with an exceeding loud voice. They rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, "Listen to me, Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in YHWH your God, so you shall be established! Believe his prophets, so you shall prosper."When he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who should sing to YHWH, and give praise in holy array, as they went out before the army, and say, Give thanks to YHWH; for his loving kindness endures forever. When they began to sing and to praise, YHWH set ambushers against the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were struck. For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir, utterly to kill and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, everyone helped to destroy another. When Judah came to the place overlooking the wilderness, they looked at the multitude; and behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and there were none who escaped. When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take their spoil, they found among them in abundance both riches and dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in taking the spoil, it was so much.On the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Beracah; for there they blessed YHWH: therefore the name of that place was called The valley of Beracah to this day. Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in their forefront, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for YHWH had made them to rejoice over their enemies. They came to Jerusalem with stringed instruments and harps and trumpets to the house of YHWH.The fear of God was on all the kingdoms of the countries, when they heard that YHWH fought against the enemies of Israel. So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet; for his God gave him rest all around.

YHWH said, "Go up against him."The children of Israel came near against the children of Benjamin the second day.Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all these drew the sword. Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came to Bethel, and wept, and sat there before YHWH, and fasted that day until evening; and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before YHWH.

Then you shall call, and YHWH will answer; you shall cry, and he will say, 'Here I am.' He made a proclamation and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, "Let neither man nor animal, herd nor flock, taste anything; let them not feed, nor drink water;but let them be covered with sackcloth, both man and animal, and let them cry mightily to God. Yes, let them turn everyone from his evil way, and from the violence that is in his hands.Who knows whether God will not turn and relent, and turn away from his fierce anger, so that we might not perish?"God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way. The king spoke and said to Daniel, "Daniel, servant of the living God. Is your God, whom you serve continually, able to deliver you from the lions?"Then said Daniel to the king, "O king, live forever. My God has sent his angel, and has shut the lions' mouths, and they have not hurt me; because before him innocence was found in me; and also before you, O king, have I done no wrong."Then was the king exceedingly glad, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.The king commanded, and they brought those men who had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions overpowered them, and broke all their bones in pieces, before they came to the bottom of the den.
