Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
For, brethren, you have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but by love serve one another.
If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; you also ought to wash one another’s feet.For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.
As every person has received a gift, even so minister the same to one another, as good stewards of the varied grace of God.
But to do good and to share do not forget: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
He that has pity on the poor lends to the LORD; and that which he has given will he pay him back.
Let nothing be done through strife or self glorification; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves.Let each one not look out for his own things, but every one also for the things of others.
Be kindly affectioned to one another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another;
And the King shall answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, To the extent that you have done it to one of the least of these my brothers, you have done it unto me.
For even the Son of man came not to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
We then who are strong ought to bear with the concerns of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
Every man according as he purposes in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver.
The generous soul shall be made fat: and he that waters shall be watered also himself.
But he who has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his feelings of compassion from him, how does the love of God dwell in him?My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
I have shown you all things, how so laboring you ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
Give, and it shall be given to you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your lap. For with the same measure that you use it shall be measured to you again.
Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have something to give to him that is needy.
What does it profit, my brethren, though a man says he has faith, and has not works? Can faith save him?If a brother or sister is naked, and destitute of daily food,And one of you says to them, Depart in peace, be warmed and filled; however you do not give them those things which are necessary for the body; what does it profit?Even so faith, if it has not works, is dead, being alone.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own animal, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
Do not withhold good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
And whoever shall give one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, truly I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.
Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good to all men, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
And if you draw out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall your light rise in obscurity, and your darkness be as the noonday:
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, by the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:Knowing that whatever good thing anyone does, the same shall he receive from the Lord, whether he is bond or free.
That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give to others, willing to share;
Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things with which one may build another up.
Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion on one another, love as brethren, be tenderhearted, be courteous:
Sell what you have, and give gifts; provide yourselves bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that fails not, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts.For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
And let us consider one another to provoke to love and to good works:Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching.
She stretches out her hand to the poor; yea, she reaches forth her hands to the needy.
For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what a man has, and not according to what he has not.
Love suffers long, and is kind; love neither envies nor boasts, love is not proud,Does not behave itself inappropriately or seek its own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil;
And let us not be weary in well doing: for when the time is right we shall reap, if we do not faint.
But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing back; and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind to the unthankful and to the evil.
Therefore if your enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirsts, give him drink: for in so doing you shall heap coals of fire on his head.Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Then he said to his disciples, The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few;Pray ye therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he will send out laborers into his harvest.
Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.Deliver the poor and needy: rescue them out of the hand of the wicked.
Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
Do not be forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
But when you make a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:And you shall be blessed; for they cannot repay you: for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
Now may the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded towards one another according to Christ Jesus:That you may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Do all things without murmuring and disputing:That you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world;
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God pleaded with you by us: we appeal to you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
For which is greater, he who sits at dinner, or he who serves? Is not he who sits at dinner? But I am among you as he who serves.
But when you do your giving, let not your left hand know what your right hand does:That your giving may be in secret: and your Father who sees in secret himself shall reward you openly.
And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?He answered and said to them, He who has two coats, let him give to him who has none; and he that has food, let him do likewise.
Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil; cling to that which is good.Be kindly affectioned to one another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another;
A new commandment I give to you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love to one another.
Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and deeds of mercy which she did.
Well reported of for good works; if she has brought up children, if she has lodged strangers, if she has washed the saints’ feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, if she has diligently pursued every good work.
And this they did, not as we hoped, but first they gave themselves to the Lord, and to us by the will of God,
Jesus said to him, If you will be perfect, go and sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
Only they desired that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was eager to do.
Open your mouth for the dumb in the cause of all those that are appointed to destruction.Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
Likewise, you younger, submit yourselves to the elder. Yes, all of you be subject to one another, and be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble.
Is it not to distribute your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house? when you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you do not hide yourself from your own flesh?
Therefore whatever things you would like for men to do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not be concerned with high things, but associate with men of humble circumstances. Do not be wise in your own conceits.
Not every one who says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake has forgiven you.
If there is therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,Fulfill my joy, and be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which you have shown toward his name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
He who stops up his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose.
Now when Jesus heard these things, he said to him, You still lack one thing: sell all that you have, and distribute to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Or he that exhorts, in exhortation: he that gives, let him do it with sincerity; he that rules, with diligence; he that shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
And God is able to make every grace abound toward you; that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them; and those who suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
For I was hungry, and you gave me food: I was thirsty, and you gave me drink: I was a stranger, and you took me in:Naked, and you clothed me: I was sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me.
He has distributed, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honor.
Do not be deceived; God is not mocked: for whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap.For he who sows to his flesh shall from the flesh reap corruption; but he who sows to the Spirit shall from the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Instruct those who are rich in this world, that they be not proud, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy;That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give to others, willing to share;Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
And Zacchaeus stood, and said to the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore to him fourfold.
He that gives to the poor shall not suffer from want: but he that hides his eyes shall have many a curse.
Now may he who ministers seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)Being enriched in everything to all abundance, which causes through us thanksgiving to God.
And the multitude of those who believed was of one heart and of one soul: neither did any of them say that any of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things in common.And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made to everyone according as he had need.
Let every soul be subject to the higher authorities. For there is no authority but from God: the authorities that exist are appointed by God.
Confess your faults to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much.
And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love toward one another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I am loved.
Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Till seven times?Jesus said to him, I do not say to you, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your concern for me has flourished again; in which you were also concerned, but you lacked opportunity.
Which now of these three, do you think, was neighbor to him that fell among the thieves?And he said, He that showed mercy on him. Then said Jesus to him, Go, and do likewise.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,Nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fullness of God.
But this I say, He who sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly; and he who sows abundantly shall also reap abundantly.
For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, by which we cry out, Abba, Father.
Therefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us hold fast to grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
Yes, and if I am offered in the sacrifice and service of your faith, I have joy, and rejoice with you all.
What shall I return to the LORD for all his benefits toward me?I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.
But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were widely scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.
But God commends his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
To redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.And because you are sons, God has sent out the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying out, Abba, Father.
Behold, what manner of love the Father has given us, that we should be called the children of God: therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know him.
Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?
As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.
For we have not a high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our weaknesses; but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters.He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching concerning these things with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Who his own self bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live to righteousness: by whose stripes you were healed.
For whatever things were written in former times were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from whence comes my help.My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
While by the trustworthiness of this ministry they glorify God for your professed subjection to the gospel of Christ, and for your generous distribution to them, and to everyone;And by their prayer for you, who long for you for the exceeding grace of God in you.
Neither do I pray for these alone, but for those also who shall believe in me through their word;That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
