96 Verses about the Promise of the Kingdom of God
“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.
Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.
I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path.
After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him,
The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one,
In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it.In that day people will throw away to the moles and bats their idols of silver and idols of gold, which they made to worship.They will flee to caverns in the rocks and to the overhanging crags from the fearful presence of the Lord and the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to shake the earth.Stop trusting in mere humans, who have but a breath in their nostrils. Why hold them in esteem?Many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be handed over to the holy people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.’
Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal.It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel.There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west.The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city, its gates and its walls.The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia in length, and as wide and high as it is long.The angel measured the wall using human measurement, and it was 144 cubits thick.The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass.The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald,I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
He told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven.Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
He said to them, “Therefore every teacher of the law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.”
From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and violent people have been raiding it.
Looking at his disciples, he said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me,Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve.so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.
For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.”
But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil.
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does.
The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name.
Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear.
“As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before me,” declares the Lord, “so will your name and descendants endure.
To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne.
Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.
but the crowds learned about it and followed him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing.
Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.
“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.
Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
“See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.
There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.
He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.
“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
But the holy people of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will possess it forever—yes, for ever and ever.’
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,
Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?
“In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.
“Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”
Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed,nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.”
For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,
“The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”
Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.
And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.”
and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.
He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!
“For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard.
The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
When one of those at the table with him heard this, he said to Jesus, “Blessed is the one who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.”
Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”
Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.
And he said to them, “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see that the kingdom of God has come with power.”
“The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John. Since that time, the good news of the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone is forcing their way into it.
“Truly I tell you,” Jesus said to them, “no one who has left home or wife or brothers or sisters or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of GodAnd there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’will fail to receive many times as much in this age, and in the age to come eternal life.”
He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground.Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how.All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head.As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.”
But about the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.
and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.”
encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.
“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.”
You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.”
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.
