110 Bible verses about Patience

110 Bible verses about Patience

Patience is such a powerful gift from the Holy Spirit, and it's one of the most important qualities anyone can have. When you're patient, you can face tough times with strength and without complaining. Trusting God and waiting on Him means you won't miss out on His blessings, you'll never be ashamed, and you'll bring so much joy to His heart.

Before you rely on your own understanding, wait for guidance from the Almighty. He’ll lead you down the right path and take you to places that will truly bless your soul. Don't get discouraged when you see those who don't follow God seemingly prospering. Their lives lack true peace and security.

Have faith that through Jesus' power, your dreams will come true, and you'll find real peace. Patience is all about living calmly, trusting in God instead of worrying about tomorrow. If you feel like you're impatient and always need to be in control, take a step back and think about it. That kind of mindset can cause a lot of stress and even put your well-being at risk.

If being patient is a struggle, ask the Holy Spirit to fill your heart with patience. His love will wash over you, taking away your fears, doubts, and despair. You'll begin to rest in God and the power of His grace. Don't give up on doing what's right. In due season, you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

Ephesians 4:1-2

I, therefore, the prisoner for the Lord, urge you to live worthily of the calling with which you have been called,He, the very one who descended, is also the one who ascended above all the heavens, in order to fill all things. It was he who gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,to equip the saints for the work of ministry, that is, to build up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God – a mature person, attaining to the measure of Christ’s full stature. So we are no longer to be children, tossed back and forth by waves and carried about by every wind of teaching by the trickery of people who craftily carry out their deceitful schemes. But practicing the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ, who is the head. From him the whole body grows, fitted and held together through every supporting ligament. As each one does its part, the body grows in love.So I say this, and insist in the Lord, that you no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding, being alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardness of their hearts.Because they are callous, they have given themselves over to indecency for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,

Hebrews 12:1-2

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, we must get rid of every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and run with endurance the race set out for us,For they disciplined us for a little while as seemed good to them, but he does so for our benefit, that we may share his holiness. Now all discipline seems painful at the time, not joyful. But later it produces the fruit of peace and righteousness for those trained by it.Therefore, strengthen your listless hands and your weak knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but be healed.Pursue peace with everyone, and holiness, for without it no one will see the Lord.See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God, that no one be like a bitter root springing up and causing trouble, and through him many become defiled. And see to it that no one becomes an immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal. For you know that later when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no opportunity for repentance, although he sought the blessing with tears. For you have not come to something that can be touched, to a burning fire and darkness and gloom and a whirlwindand the blast of a trumpet and a voice uttering words such that those who heard begged to hear no more.keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set out for him he endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.

James 1:2-4

My brothers and sisters, consider it nothing but joy when you fall into all sorts of trials,For human anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness. So put away all filth and evil excess and humbly welcome the message implanted within you, which is able to save your souls. But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves. For if someone merely listens to the message and does not live it out, he is like someone who gazes at his own face in a mirror. For he gazes at himself and then goes out and immediately forgets what sort of person he was.But the one who peers into the perfect law of liberty and fixes his attention there, and does not become a forgetful listener but one who lives it out – he will be blessed in what he does.If someone thinks he is religious yet does not bridle his tongue, and so deceives his heart, his religion is futile.Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their misfortune and to keep oneself unstained by the world.because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect effect, so that you will be perfect and complete, not deficient in anything.

Prayer

Good and eternal God, Most High! I praise you for you are Just, Holy, and Worthy of all supreme praise and adoration. I come before your throne of grace, in Jesus' name, to ask for your favor and for your Spirit to guide every word my heart desires. You are the all-knowing God, you know everything that exists, visible and invisible, so I ask for your forgiveness for the mistakes I've made, all those that have wounded me because of my impatience. I ask that you purify me and guide me on the path of righteousness, renew your Spirit within me, Lord, for I want to please you even with my actions. Your word says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." Grant me the patience to endure long waits, to adapt to the unexpected, to tolerate what irritates me. Fill me with the strength and patience necessary to love and honor those who are insensitive or careless with their words and actions, help me Holy Spirit to face adversity and to believe in what you have given me. Today I renounce sin, all impurity, and impatience. Guard my ears from all gossip, guard my tongue from all slander, I ask that the words of my mouth be pleasing to you and my life be a fragrant aroma before you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
