116 Bible Verses about Missionary Journeys

116 Bible Verses about Missionary Journeys

Sharing the Gospel of salvation with everyone is a huge task that Jesus gave us all. It's not just for a select few, but for everyone who calls themselves a child of God. So, helping the world find its way back to the Father should be your top priority.

You can't stay silent or ignore how desperately people need God. You can't be apathetic or indifferent in a world that's drifting further and further away, where so many are lost. This generation is crying out, and it's not angels who are called to spread this message of peace, it's you.

Just as salvation came into your life, now it's time for you to be that bridge for others. Becoming a missionary isn't easy; it takes being led by the Spirit to truly fulfill God's calling. Staying strong in the face of hardship and persecution, holding onto your faith even when you're looked down on, mistreated, and rejected – that only comes from the strength of the Holy Spirit.

You can be sure there's a great reward in heaven waiting for those who lovingly search for the lost. This is the same passion that kept Christ on the cross, and it brings Him so much joy to see us following in His footsteps.

As Romans 10:14-15 says, "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!'"

Acts 13:2-3

While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”All this took about four hundred fifty years. After this he gave them judges until the time of Samuel the prophet. Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul son of Kish, a man from the tribe of Benjamin, who ruled forty years. After removing him, God raised up David their king. He testified about him: ‘I have found David the son of Jesse to be a man after my heart, who will accomplish everything I want him to do.’From the descendants of this man God brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, just as he promised. Before Jesus arrived, John had proclaimed a baptism for repentance to all the people of Israel. But while John was completing his mission, he said repeatedly, ‘What do you think I am? I am not he. But look, one is coming after me. I am not worthy to untie the sandals on his feet!’Brothers, descendants of Abraham’s family, and those Gentiles among you who fear God, the message of this salvation has been sent to us.For the people who live in Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize him, and they fulfilled the sayings of the prophets that are read every Sabbath by condemning him.Though they found no basis for a death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him executed. When they had accomplished everything that was written about him, they took him down from the cross and placed him in a tomb. Then, after they had fasted and prayed and placed their hands on them, they sent them off.

Nevertheless know this: The kingdom of God has come.’I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town!“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. But it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you!And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? No, you will be thrown down to Hades!“The one who listens to you listens to me, and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one who rejects me rejects the one who sent me.”Then the seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name!”So he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.Look, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions and on the full force of the enemy, and nothing will hurt you.He said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

So Abram’s wife was taken into the household of Pharaoh, and he did treat Abram well on account of her. Abram received sheep and cattle, male donkeys, male servants, female servants, female donkeys, and camels. But the Lord struck Pharaoh and his household with severe diseases because of Sarai, Abram’s wife.So Pharaoh summoned Abram and said, “What is this you have done to me? Why didn’t you tell me that she was your wife? Why did you say, ‘She is my sister,’ so that I took her to be my wife? Here is your wife! Take her and go!”Then I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you, and I will make your name great, so that you will exemplify divine blessing.Pharaoh gave his men orders about Abram, and so they expelled him, along with his wife and all his possessions.I will bless those who bless you, but the one who treats you lightly I must curse, and all the families of the earth will bless one another by your name.”

Hebrews 13:1-2

Brotherly love must continue. We have an altar that those who serve in the tabernacle have no right to eat from. For the bodies of those animals whose blood the high priest brings into the sanctuary as an offering for sin are burned outside the camp. Therefore, to sanctify the people by his own blood, Jesus also suffered outside the camp.We must go out to him, then, outside the camp, bearing the abuse he experienced. For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, acknowledging his name. And do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls and will give an account for their work. Let them do this with joy and not with complaints, for this would be no advantage for you.Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to conduct ourselves rightly in every respect.I especially ask you to pray that I may be restored to you very soon.Do not neglect hospitality, because through it some have entertained angels without knowing it.

Romans 5:1-2

Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, since we have been reconciled, will we be saved by his life? Not only this, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received this reconciliation. So then, just as sin entered the world through one man and death through sin, and so death spread to all people because all sinned –for before the law was given, sin was in the world, but there is no accounting for sin when there is no law.Yet death reigned from Adam until Moses even over those who did not sin in the same way that Adam (who is a type of the coming one) transgressed. But the gracious gift is not like the transgression. For if the many died through the transgression of the one man, how much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one man Jesus Christ multiply to the many! And the gift is not like the one who sinned. For judgment, resulting from the one transgression, led to condemnation, but the gracious gift from the many failures led to justification. For if, by the transgression of the one man, death reigned through the one, how much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ!Consequently, just as condemnation for all people came through one transgression, so too through the one righteous act came righteousness leading to life for all people. For just as through the disobedience of the one man many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of one man many will be made righteous.through whom we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of God’s glory.

Prayer

Merciful Father, overflowing with goodness and awe-inspiring power, you are strong and worthy of all glory and honor. Lord, your will is for the earth to be filled with the knowledge of your glory, just as the waters cover the sea. I pray you send workers into the harvest field. Raise up missionaries from the north and south, from the east and west, to spread the gospel to every corner of the earth. I pray your Holy Spirit continues to fill the lives of each brave soul who has given their all to proclaim your precious word to the poor and the rich, the young and the old. Lord, I pray that doors will be opened, that the light of your word may shine through them, and that the precious message of salvation may reach the lives of all people. I pray that the message of the Lord will spread rapidly and be received with honor, just as it was in ancient times. Father, continue to add to the harvest those committed to preaching your word, in season and out of season. Your word says, "For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, 'I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.'" I declare that every obstacle is removed so that the Word of God may flow freely. Satan cannot harm the work of God and is resisted and rebuked. In Jesus' name, Amen.
