Life throws curveballs, right? It tests you, refines you, and ultimately teaches you to lean on God with all your heart. Think of it this way: even the toughest situations are blessings in disguise, drawing you closer to Him.
When you're feeling overwhelmed and desperate, lift your hands up and cry out to God. Before you turn to anyone else, seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit, who will send angels to your aid.
Find refuge in Jesus, your shield and protector. He’s powerful enough to set you free and conquer your fears. Reaching out to God always brings peace and immeasurable rewards.
Remember Psalm 121:1: "My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." Jesus is there for you 24/7, offering comfort, relief, and healing. Place your life in His hands and allow His perfect will to unfold in your life.
His love will always look out for you, and there's no safer place than in His presence.
And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.
“ Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. [Luke 11:9-13]
I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]
Now we who are strong [in our convictions and faith] ought to [patiently] put up with the weaknesses of those who are not strong, and not just please ourselves.
Do not neglect to do good, to contribute [to the needy of the church as an expression of fellowship], for such sacrifices are always pleasing to God.
In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words.
So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently say, “The Lord is my Helper [in time of need], I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?” [Ps 27:1; 118:6]
Carry one another’s burdens and in this way you will fulfill the requirements of the law of Christ [that is, the law of Christian love]. [John 13:34]
Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of Your name; Rescue us, forgive us our sins for Your name’s sake.
He gives strength to the weary, And to him who has no might He increases power. [2 Cor 12:9]
The Lord is my strength and my [impenetrable] shield; My heart trusts [with unwavering confidence] in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I shall thank Him and praise Him.
He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. [1 Sam 2:9; Ps 127:1; Prov 3:23, 26; Is 27:3]
Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].
I will lift up my eyes to the hills [of Jerusalem]— From where shall my help come? [Jer 3:23]My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]. [Ps 55:22]
If I say, “My foot has slipped,” Your compassion and lovingkindness, O Lord, will hold me up.
When the righteous cry [for help], the Lord hears And rescues them from all their distress and troubles.
‘Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’ [Acts 18:10]
And if you offer yourself to [assist] the hungry And satisfy the need of the afflicted, Then your light will rise in darkness And your gloom will become like midday.
He stores away sound wisdom for the righteous [those who are in right standing with Him]; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity [those of honorable character and moral courage],
Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you. [Deut 15:8; Prov 24:29]
God is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable], A very present and well-proved help in trouble.
Blessed [gratefully praised and adored] be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort,who comforts and encourages us in every trouble so that we will be able to comfort and encourage those who are in any kind of trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
The generous man [is a source of blessing and] shall be prosperous and enriched, And he who waters will himself be watered [reaping the generosity he has sown]. [2 Cor 9:6-10]
The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in [everything that you do] From this time forth and forever. [Deut 28:6; Prov 2:8; 3:6]
Establish my footsteps in [the way of] Your word; Do not let any human weakness have power over me [causing me to be separated from You].
Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].
What then shall we say to all these things? If God is for us, who can be [successful] against us? [Ps 118:6]
“For I the Lord your God keep hold of your right hand; [I am the Lord], Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’
But God, who comforts and encourages the depressed and the disquieted, comforted us by the arrival of Titus.
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.
I waited patiently and expectantly for the Lord; And He inclined to me and heard my cry.I have not concealed Your righteousness within my heart; I have proclaimed Your faithfulness and Your salvation. I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great assembly. [Acts 20:20, 27]¶Do not withhold Your compassion and tender mercy from me, O Lord; Your lovingkindness and Your truth will continually preserve me.For innumerable evils have encompassed me; My sins have overtaken me, so that I am not able to see. They are more numerous than the hairs of my head, And my heart has failed me.¶Be pleased, O Lord, to save me; O Lord, make haste to help me.Let those be ashamed and humiliated together Who seek my life to destroy it; Let those be turned back [in defeat] and dishonored Who delight in my hurt.Let those be appalled and desolate because of their shame Who say to me, “Aha, aha [rejoicing in my misfortune]!”Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let those who love Your salvation say continually, “The Lord be magnified!”Even though I am afflicted and needy, Still the Lord takes thought and is mindful of me. You are my help and my rescuer. O my God, do not delay. [Ps 70:1-5; 1 Pet 5:7]He brought me up out of a horrible pit [of tumult and of destruction], out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock, steadying my footsteps and establishing my path.
The Lord is near to the heartbroken And He saves those who are crushed in spirit (contrite in heart, truly sorry for their sin).
Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]
He who despises his neighbor sins [against God and his fellow man], But happy [blessed and favored by God] is he who is gracious and merciful to the poor.
We [earnestly] urge you, believers, admonish those who are out of line [the undisciplined, the unruly, the disorderly], encourage the timid [who lack spiritual courage], help the [spiritually] weak, be very patient with everyone [always controlling your temper]. [Is 35:4]
The Lord is on my side, He is among those who help me; Therefore I will look [in triumph] on those who hate me.
The Lord is near to all who call on Him, To all who call on Him in truth (without guile).
God is in the midst of her [His city], she will not be moved; God will help her when the morning dawns.
The man of too many friends [chosen indiscriminately] will be broken in pieces and come to ruin, But there is a [true, loving] friend who [is reliable and] sticks closer than a brother.
For God alone my soul waits in silence; From Him comes my salvation.Do not trust in oppression, And do not vainly hope in robbery; If riches increase, do not set your heart on them.¶God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God.Also to You, O Lord, belong lovingkindness and compassion, For You compensate every man according to [the value of] his work. [Jer 17:10; Rev 22:12]He alone is my rock and my salvation, My defense and my strong tower; I will not be shaken or disheartened.
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation].Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me [following Me as My disciple], for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest (renewal, blessed quiet) for your souls. [Jer 6:16]and asked Him, “Are You the Expected One (the Messiah), or should we look for someone else [who will be the promised One]?” [Gen 49:10; Num 24:17; Ps 40:7; 118:26; Is 59:20]For My yoke is easy [to bear] and My burden is light.”
Be devoted to one another with [authentic] brotherly affection [as members of one family], give preference to one another in honor;
Even though I am afflicted and needy, Still the Lord takes thought and is mindful of me. You are my help and my rescuer. O my God, do not delay. [Ps 70:1-5; 1 Pet 5:7]
And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.
“He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
So, as God’s own chosen people, who are holy [set apart, sanctified for His purpose] and well-beloved [by God Himself], put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience [which has the power to endure whatever injustice or unpleasantness comes, with good temper];
The Lord also will be a refuge and a stronghold for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble;
“You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].
Wait for and confidently expect the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for and confidently expect the Lord.
She opens and extends her hand to the poor, And she reaches out her filled hands to the needy.
For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;
But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
My soul dissolves because of grief; Renew and strengthen me according to [the promises of] Your word.
and let us consider [thoughtfully] how we may encourage one another to love and to do good deeds,not forsaking our meeting together [as believers for worship and instruction], as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more [faithfully] as you see the day [of Christ’s return] approaching.
Now the Lord God said, “It is not good (beneficial) for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper [one who balances him—a counterpart who is] suitable and complementary for him.”
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He rescued them from their distresses.
But whoever has the world’s goods (adequate resources), and sees his brother in need, but has no compassion for him, how does the love of God live in him?
¶I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you [who are willing to learn] with My eye upon you.
Open your mouth, judge righteously, And administer justice for the afflicted and needy. [Lev 19:15; Deut 1:16; Job 29:12; Is 1:17; Jer 22:16]
For where two or three are gathered in My name [meeting together as My followers], I am there among them.” [Ex 3:14]
for I know [with confidence] that this will turn out for my deliverance and spiritual well-being, through your prayers and the [superabundant] supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ [which upholds me].
How blessed and graciously favored is he whose help is the God of Jacob (Israel), Whose hope is in the Lord his God, [Gen 32:30]
Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; Set me securely on an inaccessibly high place away from those who rise up against me.
“For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, Nor will My covenant of peace be shaken,” Says the Lord who has compassion on you.
Now may the God who gives endurance and who supplies encouragement grant that you be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus,so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify and praise and honor the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Call on Me in the day of trouble; I will rescue you, and you shall honor and glorify Me.”
You are my hiding place; You, Lord, protect me from trouble; You surround me with songs and shouts of deliverance. Selah.
For you, my brothers, were called to freedom; only do not let your freedom become an opportunity for the sinful nature (worldliness, selfishness), but through love serve and seek the best for one another.
¶Therefore the Lord waits [expectantly] and longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed (happy, fortunate) are all those who long for Him [since He will never fail them]. [John 14:3, 27; 2 Cor 12:9; Heb 12:2; 1 John 3:16; Rev 3:5]
The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me], [Ezek 34:11-31] I shall not want.He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still and quiet waters. [Rev 7:17]He refreshes and restores my soul (life); He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
My flesh trembles in [reverent] fear of You, And I am afraid and in awe of Your judgments.
My eyes fail [with longing, watching] for [the fulfillment of] Your promise, Saying, “When will You comfort me?”
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near your tent.¶For He will command His angels in regard to you, To protect and defend and guard you in all your ways [of obedience and service].They will lift you up in their hands, So that you do not [even] strike your foot against a stone. [Luke 4:10, 11; Heb 1:14]You will tread upon the lion and cobra; The young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot. [Luke 10:19]¶“Because he set his love on Me, therefore I will save him; I will set him [securely] on high, because he knows My name [he confidently trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never abandon him, no, never].“He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.“With a long life I will satisfy him And I will let him see My salvation.”I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!”
“And the Lord will continually guide you, And satisfy your soul in scorched and dry places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.
The Lord is my light and my salvation— Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the refuge and fortress of my life— Whom shall I dread?
“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord [with reverent awe and obedience] and turn [entirely] away from evil. [Prov 8:13]It will be health to your body [your marrow, your nerves, your sinews, your muscles—all your inner parts] And refreshment (physical well-being) to your bones.
Just as each one of you has received a special gift [a spiritual talent, an ability graciously given by God], employ it in serving one another as [is appropriate for] good stewards of God’s multi-faceted grace [faithfully using the diverse, varied gifts and abilities granted to Christians by God’s unmerited favor].
O Lord, you have searched me [thoroughly] and have known me.Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will take hold of me.If I say, “Surely the darkness will cover me, And the night will be the only light around me,”Even the darkness is not dark to You and conceals nothing from You, But the night shines as bright as the day; Darkness and light are alike to You. [Dan 2:22]¶For You formed my innermost parts; You knit me [together] in my mother’s womb.I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.My frame was not hidden from You, When I was being formed in secret, And intricately and skillfully formed [as if embroidered with many colors] in the depths of the earth.Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written The days that were appointed for me, When as yet there was not one of them [even taking shape].¶How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! [Ps 40:5]If I could count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You.¶O that You would kill the wicked, O God; Go away from me, therefore, men of bloodshed. [Is 11:4]You know when I sit down and when I rise up [my entire life, everything I do]; You understand my thought from afar. [Matt 9:4; John 2:24, 25]
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change And though the mountains be shaken and slip into the heart of the seas,
No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].
And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Before I was afflicted I went astray, But now I keep and honor Your word [with loving obedience].
Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in.
Behold, a King will reign in righteousness, And princes will rule with justice.In little more than a year You will tremble [with anxiety], you unsuspecting and complacent women; For the vintage has ended, And the harvest will not come.Tremble, you women who are carefree; Tremble with fear, you complacent ones! Strip, undress and wear sackcloth on your waist [in grief],Beat your breasts [in mourning] for the beautiful fields, for the fruitful vine,For the land of my people growing over with thorns and briars— Yes, [mourn] for all the houses of joy in the joyous city.For the palace has been abandoned, the populated city deserted; The hill [of the city] and the watchtower have become caves [for wild animals] forever, A delight for wild donkeys, a pasture for flocks,Until the Spirit is poured out upon us from on high, And the wilderness becomes a fertile field, And the fertile field is valued as a forest. [Ps 104:30; Ezek 36:26, 27; 39:29; Zech 12:10]Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, And righteousness will live in the fertile field.And the effect of righteousness will be peace, And the result of righteousness will be quietness and confident trust forever.Then my people will live in a peaceful surrounding, And in secure dwellings and in undisturbed resting places.But it will hail, when the forest comes down, And the [capital] city will fall in utter humiliation.Each [one of them] will be like a hiding place from the wind And a shelter from the storm, Like streams of water in a dry land, Like the shade of a huge rock in a parched and weary land [to those who turn to them].
For You are my hope; O Lord God, You are my trust and the source of my confidence from my youth.
Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, But a good (encouraging) word makes it glad. [Ps 50:4; Prov 15:13]
So do not be like them [praying as they do]; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble in dread before them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not fail you or abandon you.”
Then Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpah and Shen, and he named it Ebenezer (stone of help), saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”
May the Lord answer you (David) in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high [and defend you in battle]!May He send you help from the sanctuary (His dwelling place) And support and strengthen you from Zion!
¶Help me, O Lord my God; Save me according to Your lovingkindness—And let them know that this is Your hand; You, Lord, have done it.
¶Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me. [Ps 23:3, 4]
¶The Lord upholds all those [of His own] who fall And raises up all those who are bowed down.
