Now when the king of Israel read the letter, he ripped his clothes and said, “Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man is sending to me to cure a man of his tza'arat? But please consider, and see how he is seeking a pretext against me.”
For He inflicts pain, but He also binds up; He injures, yet His hands also heal.
The ropes of death entangled me, and the torments of Sheol found me. I found trouble and sorrow.
Adonai, You brought my soul up from Sheol. You kept me alive, so I would not go down to the Pit.
Blessed be my Lord! Day by day He bears our burdens— the God of our salvation! Selah
You made me see many troubles and evils —You will revive me again— from the depths of the earth You will bring me up again.
