“When they sin against You – for there is no one who does not sin – and You become enraged with them and give them to the enemy, and they take them captive to the land of the enemy, far or near;
‘Have the mighty ones of the nations delivered those whom my fathers have destroyed: Gozan and Ḥ
‘And I shall stretch over Yerushalayim the measuring line of Shomeron and the plummet of the house of Aḥ
for many fell dead, because the battle was of Elohim. And they dwelt in their place until the exile.
“See, I am stirring up the Medes against them, who do not regard silver, and as for gold, they do not delight in it.
A distressing vision is revealed to me: the treacherous betrays, and the ravager ravages. Go up, O Ě
until I come. Then I shall take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards.
“Truly, יהוה, the sovereigns of Ashshur have laid waste all the lands, and their land,
for before the child knows to cry ‘My father’ and ‘My mother,’ the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Shomeron is taken away before the sovereign of Ashshur.”
“PERES – Your reign has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.”
And she conceived again and bore a daughter. And He said to him, “Call her name Lo-Ruḥ
then He said, “Call his name Lo-Ammi, for you are not My people, and I am not for you.
“Shomeron is held guilty, for she has rebelled against her Elohim – they fall by the sword, their infants are dashed in pieces, and their pregnant women ripped open.”
They shall not dwell in the land of יהוה, but Ephrayim shall return to Mitsrayim, and eat unclean food in Ashshur.
‘And you shall perish among the gentiles, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up,
“Therefore I shall send you into exile beyond Damascus,” said יהוה Elohim of hosts – His Name.
“Therefore thus said יהוה, ‘Your wife shall become a whore in the city, and your sons and daughters fall by the sword, and your land be divided by a measuring line, and you die in a defiled land, and Yisra’ĕ
“יהוה brings you and the sovereign whom you set over you to a nation which neither you nor your fathers have known, and there you shall serve other mighty ones, wood and stone.
“And יהוה shall scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other, and there you shall serve other mighty ones, which neither you nor your fathers have known, wood and stone.
“I have declared to you today that you shall certainly perish, you shall not prolong your days in the land which you are passing over the Yardĕ
