He wanders abroad for bread, saying, ‘Where is it?’ He knows that a day of darkness is ready at his hand;


that the wicked man is spared in the day of calamity, that he is rescued in the day of wrath?


but for this purpose have I let you live, to show you my power, so that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.


Every one who is arrogant is an abomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished.


He has made everything beautiful in its time; also he has put eternity into man's mind, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.


the people whom I formed for myself that they might declare my praise.


every one who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”


For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory for ever. Amen.


What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience the vessels of wrath made for destruction,


and “A stone that will make men stumble, a rock that will make them fall”; for they stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.


And in their greed they will exploit you with false words; from of old their condemnation has not been idle, and their destruction has not been asleep.


then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment,
