The unfolding of thy words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.
How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to thy word.
The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;
My son, keep sound wisdom and discretion; let them not escape from your sight,
Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; walk in the ways of your heart and the sight of your eyes. But know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.
And a highway shall be there, and it shall be called the Holy Way; the unclean shall not pass over it, and fools shall not err therein.
Keep them and do them; for that will be your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, who, when they hear all these statutes, will say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’
So shun youthful passions and aim at righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call upon the Lord from a pure heart.
