Better therefore is a just man who has no idols, for he will be far from reproach.
The righteous person has an advantage over others; he does not own any idols, and they can never make a fool of him.
People who do right have no use at all for idols. And these people are better off, because they will never be put to shame.
Better therefore is the just man that hath none idols: for he shall be far from reproach.
Better, therefore, is someone upright who has no idols; such a person will be far above reproach.
