Then all the guests of Adonijah got up trembling and went their own ways.


So they went after them as far as the Jordan; the whole way was littered with garments and equipment that the Arameans had thrown away in their haste. So the messengers returned and told the king.


But I said, “Should a man like me run away? Would a man like me go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in!”


Terrifying sounds are in their ears; in prosperity the destroyer will come upon them.

but though we had already suffered and been shamefully mistreated at Philippi, as you know, we had courage in our God to declare to you the gospel of God in spite of great opposition.
