This is not a word that will provoke mercy, but rather one that may excite wrath and enkindle fury.

What right do you have to put God to the test as you have done today? Who are you to put yourselves in God's place in dealing with human affairs?

Now who are you that you have tested God this day, and stand in the place of God among the children of men?

You have no right to test God like that, and you certainly have no business trying to control the lives of people. God is in control of that.
