So I give up my life courageously now to show myself worthy of my old age,

For this reason, by departing life with fortitude, I will show myself to be clearly worthy of my long life.

Wherefore by departing manfully out of this life, I shall shew myself worthy of my old age:

If I die bravely now, it will show that I deserved my long life.

Therefore, by bravely parting with my life now, I will show myself worthy of my old age,

By dying bravely I can prove that I was worthy of the long life that God has given me.
