2 I will praise thee, O Lord my God: with my whole heart, and I will glorify thy name for ever:
I wonder that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ, unto another gospel.
3 But now in Christ Jesus, you, who some time were afar off, are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
Be not led away with various and strange doctrines. For it is best that the heart be established with grace, not with meats; which have not profited those that walk in them.
He who saith that he knoweth him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
3 I write unto you, fathers, because you have known him, who is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because you have overcome the wicked one.
8 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that Antichrist cometh, even now there are become many Antichrists: whereby we know that it is the last hour.
9 In this we know that we are of the truth: and in his sight shall persuade our hearts.
5 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer. And you know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in himself.
For whatsoever is born of God, overcometh the world: and this is the victory which overcometh the world, our faith.
6 And we have known, and have believed the charity, which God hath to us. God is charity: and he that abideth in charity, abideth in God, and God in him.
