Addiction and bad habits can be so destructive. Think about it, addiction is clinging to something—a behavior, a substance, an activity, even a person—that's actually harming you. So many of us struggle with these things, feeling trapped by a vice or an addiction. Sometimes, we feel like it's because of our past.
But here's the truth: in God, we're free. Christ set us free from all of that and forgave our sins. If you keep dwelling on the past, those chains can really hold you back. Sometimes, these struggles can even stem from negative spiritual influences, finding a foothold and coming to light when we unknowingly open a door, giving the enemy a legal right to step in.
You have the power to let go of what's binding you. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas of bondage you need to address. Receive God's forgiveness and His healing. He's there for you.
I pray that we all find freedom from anything that's hurting us and holding us back. Just like it says in John 8:36, "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."
Husbands, love your wives, even as the Messiah also loved the assembly, and gave himself for it;
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.
And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers Elohim will judge.
Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in Yahweh.
Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
Put on therefore, as the elect of Elohim, holy and beloved, tender mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as the Master forgave you, so also do ye.
And above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness.
And let the peace of the Messiah rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Let the word of the Messiah dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to Elohim.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Master Yahshua, giving thanks to Elohim and the Father by him.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not fitting: but rather giving of thanks.
For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of the Messiah and of Yahweh.
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even the Messiah:
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Master.
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as the Messiah is the head of the assembly: and he is the saviour of the body.
Therefore as the assembly is subject unto the Messiah, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Husbands, love your wives, even as the Messiah also loved the assembly, and gave himself for it;
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
That he might present it to himself an honorable assembly, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Messiah the assembly:
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning the Messiah and the assembly.
Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
Husbands, love your wives, even as the Messiah also loved the assembly, and gave himself for it;
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as the Messiah is the head of the assembly: and he is the saviour of the body.
Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of Elohim and man.
Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conduct of the wives;
While they behold your chaste conduct coupled with fear.
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of Elohim of great price.
For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in Yahweh, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
Even as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him master: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
Herein is love, not that we loved Elohim, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
And above all things have fervent love among yourselves: for love shall cover the multitude of sins.
As ye have therefore received the Messiah Yahshua the Master, so walk ye in him:
Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after the Messiah.
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Supreme Being bodily.
And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
And Yahweh Elohim said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.
Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.
Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.
So Elohim created man in his own image, in the image of Elohim created he him; male and female created he them.
And Elohim blessed them, and Elohim said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Let nothing be done through strife or vain boasting; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another;
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
A Song of degrees for Solomon. Except Yahweh build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except Yahweh keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they two shall be one flesh?
Wherefore they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore Elohim hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Sovereign, Let not the wife depart from her husband:
But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.
It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is put away committeth adultery.
But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck.
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Yahweh, my strength, and my redeemer. To the chief Musician.
