You know, it's tough sometimes to ask for help, even when things are really piling up and you just don't know what to do. It's easy to try to go it alone, to wear yourself out physically and emotionally, all because you don't want to bother anyone or be judged. We build up these walls to protect ourselves, forgetting that there are people around us who genuinely want to help, and ultimately, we forget Jesus. He offers true love, never condemns, and has solutions for everything we face.
If there's anyone you should never hesitate to reach out to, it's God. He's right there with you, your rock, holding your hand and saying, "Don't be afraid, I'm here to help." He wants you to trust completely that in His hands, you'll find peace. Open your heart to Him. Tell Him everything that's going on, the good, the bad, the painful. Let it all out. Cry if you need to. Let His love heal you and lift you up.
Asking the right person for help isn't a bad thing. Jesus won't shame you or broadcast your struggles. He wants you to empty yourself, to get it all off your chest, and be free from anything that's holding you back. In every situation, He wants to work in your life and for you to share His goodness and the amazing things He does.
God loves you and cares for you like you wouldn't believe. He cares about your family, your finances, your health, everything. Remember His promise in Isaiah 41:10 (NIV): "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Notice, it doesn't say He *might* help you sometime. It says He *will* always help you. You just need to ask, trusting that He hears you and He answers.
Right here, right now, receive God's peace and the confidence to come before Him without fear. Lay it all out. Your help comes from the Creator of heaven and earth, who is good and whose mercies are new every morning.
I look to the mountains; where will my help come from?
My help will come from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
“Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
But if any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all.
Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart.
And God's peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus.
Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the merciful Father, the God from whom all help comes!
He helps us in all our troubles, so that we are able to help others who have all kinds of troubles, using the same help that we ourselves have received from God.
“Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest.
For the yoke I will give you is easy, and the load I will put on you is light.”
He strengthens those who are weak and tired.
Even those who are young grow weak; young people can fall exhausted.
But those who trust in the Lord for help will find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles; they will run and not get weary; they will walk and not grow weak.
My friends: I myself feel sure that you are full of goodness, that you have all knowledge, and that you are able to teach one another.
You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
In the same way your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.
Where could I go to escape from you? Where could I get away from your presence?
If I went up to heaven, you would be there; if I lay down in the world of the dead, you would be there.
If I flew away beyond the east or lived in the farthest place in the west,
you would be there to lead me, you would be there to help me.
For the Spirit that God has given us does not make us timid; instead, his Spirit fills us with power, love, and self-control.
You are my hiding place; you will save me from trouble. I sing aloud of your salvation, because you protect me.
Two are better off than one, because together they can work more effectively.
If one of them falls down, the other can help him up. But if someone is alone and falls, it's just too bad, because there is no one to help him.
When you pray, I will answer you. When you call to me, I will respond. “If you put an end to oppression, to every gesture of contempt, and to every evil word;
Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer!
In despair and far from home I call to you! Take me to a safe refuge,
Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know.
Remember the Lord in everything you do, and he will show you the right way.
I waited patiently for the Lord's help; then he listened to me and heard my cry.
He pulled me out of a dangerous pit, out of the deadly quicksand. He set me safely on a rock and made me secure.
When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you; your troubles will not overwhelm you. When you pass through fire, you will not be burned; the hard trials that come will not hurt you.
But his answer was: “My grace is all you need, for my power is greatest when you are weak.” I am most happy, then, to be proud of my weaknesses, in order to feel the protection of Christ's power over me.
In the same way the Spirit also comes to help us, weak as we are. For we do not know how we ought to pray; the Spirit himself pleads with God for us in groans that words cannot express.
With all my heart I call to you; answer me, Lord, and I will obey your commands!
I call to you; save me, and I will keep your laws.
Teach me your ways, O Lord; make them known to me.
Teach me to live according to your truth, for you are my God, who saves me. I always trust in you.
Let us be concerned for one another, to help one another to show love and to do good.
Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see that the Day of the Lord is coming nearer.
And with all his abundant wealth through Christ Jesus, my God will supply all your needs.
Two people can resist an attack that would defeat one person alone. A rope made of three cords is hard to break.
Every test that you have experienced is the kind that normally comes to people. But God keeps his promise, and he will not allow you to be tested beyond your power to remain firm; at the time you are put to the test, he will give you the strength to endure it, and so provide you with a way out.
If the Lord had not helped me, I would have gone quickly to the land of silence.
I said, “I am falling”; but your constant love, O Lord, held me up.
Whenever I am anxious and worried, you comfort me and make me glad.
The Sovereign Lord has taught me what to say, so that I can strengthen the weary. Every morning he makes me eager to hear what he is going to teach me.
“Do for others what you want them to do for you: this is the meaning of the Law of Moses and of the teachings of the prophets.
We have courage in God's presence, because we are sure that he hears us if we ask him for anything that is according to his will.
He hears us whenever we ask him; and since we know this is true, we know also that he gives us what we ask from him.
I come to you, Lord, for protection; never let me be defeated. You are a righteous God; save me, I pray!
Hear me! Save me now! Be my refuge to protect me; my defense to save me.
So let us not become tired of doing good; for if we do not give up, the time will come when we will reap the harvest.
By the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ I appeal to all of you, my friends, to agree in what you say, so that there will be no divisions among you. Be completely united, with only one thought and one purpose.
Examine me, O God, and know my mind; test me, and discover my thoughts.
Find out if there is any evil in me and guide me in the everlasting way.
Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never leave you; I will never abandon you.”
Let us be bold, then, and say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?”
You, Lord, give perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm and put their trust in you.
But the Lord stayed with me and gave me strength, so that I was able to proclaim the full message for all the Gentiles to hear; and I was rescued from being sentenced to death.
Instead, be concerned above everything else with the Kingdom of God and with what he requires of you, and he will provide you with all these other things.
As a deer longs for a stream of cool water, so I long for you, O God.
I thirst for you, the living God. When can I go and worship in your presence?
Before sunrise I call to you for help; I place my hope in your promise.
All night long I lie awake, to meditate on your instructions.
“I will look for those that are lost, bring back those that wander off, bandage those that are hurt, and heal those that are sick; but those that are fat and strong I will destroy, because I am a shepherd who does what is right.
And I am not saying this because I feel neglected, for I have learned to be satisfied with what I have.
If one part of the body suffers, all the other parts suffer with it; if one part is praised, all the other parts share its happiness.
I am the Lord your God; I strengthen you and tell you, ‘Do not be afraid; I will help you.’”
I love the Lord, because he hears me; he listens to my prayers.
He listens to me every time I call to him.
Let us, then, hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we have a great High Priest who has gone into the very presence of God—Jesus, the Son of God.
Our High Priest is not one who cannot feel sympathy for our weaknesses. On the contrary, we have a High Priest who was tempted in every way that we are, but did not sin.
Let us have confidence, then, and approach God's throne, where there is grace. There we will receive mercy and find grace to help us just when we need it.
Each one, as a good manager of God's different gifts, must use for the good of others the special gift he has received from God.
The Lord will guard you; he is by your side to protect you.
The sun will not hurt you during the day, nor the moon during the night.
The Lord will protect you from all danger; he will keep you safe.
He will protect you as you come and go now and forever.
God is my savior; I will trust him and not be afraid. The Lord gives me power and strength; he is my savior.
And may God, the source of patience and encouragement, enable you to have the same point of view among yourselves by following the example of Christ Jesus,
so that all of you together may praise with one voice the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“Whoever welcomes you welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.
When I am afraid, O Lord Almighty, I put my trust in you.
I trust in God and am not afraid; I praise him for what he has promised. What can a mere human being do to me?
When you give to the poor, it is like lending to the Lord, and the Lord will pay you back.
and will give you as much security as money can. Wisdom keeps you safe—this is the advantage of knowledge.
My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action.
As for you, my friends, you were called to be free. But do not let this freedom become an excuse for letting your physical desires control you. Instead, let love make you serve one another.
Lord, have mercy on us. We have put our hope in you. Protect us day by day and save us in times of trouble.
I wait patiently for God to save me; I depend on him alone.
He alone protects and saves me; he is my defender, and I shall never be defeated.
He will not let you fall; your protector is always awake.
The protector of Israel never dozes or sleeps.
In the same way the Spirit also comes to help us, weak as we are. For we do not know how we ought to pray; the Spirit himself pleads with God for us in groans that words cannot express.
And God, who sees into our hearts, knows what the thought of the Spirit is; because the Spirit pleads with God on behalf of his people and in accordance with his will.
May you be made strong with all the strength which comes from his glorious power, so that you may be able to endure everything with patience. And with joy give thanks to the Father, who has made you fit to have your share of what God has reserved for his people in the kingdom of light.
I know that your judgments are righteous, Lord, and that you punished me because you are faithful.
Keep watch and pray that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
“Stop fighting,” he says, “and know that I am God, supreme among the nations, supreme over the world.”
But you, Lord, are on my side, strong and mighty, and those who persecute me will fail. They will be disgraced forever, because they cannot succeed. Their disgrace will never be forgotten.
Do not be afraid—I am with you! I am your God—let nothing terrify you! I will make you strong and help you; I will protect you and save you.
The Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them. I have already given you the victory. Not one of them will be able to stand against you.”
“Father,” he said, “if you will, take this cup of suffering away from me. Not my will, however, but your will be done.”
Let us have confidence, then, and approach God's throne, where there is grace. There we will receive mercy and find grace to help us just when we need it.
But when he noticed the strong wind, he was afraid and started to sink down in the water. “Save me, Lord!” he cried.
