and giving orders that these days of Purim should be observed at their appointed seasons, as the Jew Mordecai and Queen Esther enjoined on the Jews, just as they had laid down for themselves and for their descendants regulations concerning their fasts and their lamentations.


Moses told Aaron all the words of the Lord with which he had sent him, and all the signs with which he had charged him.


But you, gird up your loins; stand up and tell them everything that I command you. Do not break down before them, or I will break you before them.


But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a boy’; for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and you shall speak whatever I command you,


You shall speak my words to them, whether they hear or refuse to hear; for they are a rebellious house.


Mortal, I have made you a sentinel for the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me.


“Go at once to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before me.”


The word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time, saying,


So Jonah set out and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly large city, a three days' walk across.


Bear fruit worthy of repentance.


Later Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “See, you have been made well! Do not sin any more, so that nothing worse happens to you.”
