In a little while the heavens grew black with clouds and wind; there was a heavy rain. Ahab rode off and went to Jezreel.


Divide your means seven ways, or even eight, for you do not know what disaster may happen on earth.


Whoever observes the wind will not sow; and whoever regards the clouds will not reap.


Even now the ax is lying at the root of the trees; every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.


So he said to the gardener, ‘See here! For three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and still I find none. Cut it down! Why should it be wasting the soil?’


How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help?
