Benjamin is a wolf that ravineth: In the morning he shall devour the prey, And at even he shall divide the spoil.


And now ye purpose to keep under the children of Judah and Jerusalem for bondmen and bondwomen unto you: but are there not even with you trespasses of your own against the LORD your God?


There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.


Thy way was in the sea, And thy paths in the great waters, And thy footsteps were not known.


He gave his people over also unto the sword; And was wroth with his inheritance.


Righteous art thou, O LORD, when I plead with thee: yet would I reason the cause with thee: wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they at ease that deal very treacherously?


O Israel, thou hast sinned from the days of Gibeah: there they stood; that the battle against the children of iniquity should not overtake them in Gibeah.


When thou goest forth in camp against thine enemies, then thou shalt keep thee from every evil thing.


And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel set the battle in array against them at Gibeah.


And the people, the men of Israel, encouraged themselves, and set the battle again in array in the place where they set themselves in array the first day.


And Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all these drew the sword.
