and they saw the God of Israel; and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of sapphire stone, and as it were the very heaven for clearness.


Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel:


Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.


And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for man shall not see me and live.


Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.


No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.


And the Father which sent me, he hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form.


to drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as at this day.


For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?


And Gideon saw that he was the angel of the LORD; and Gideon said, Alas, O Lord GOD forasmuch as I have seen the angel of the LORD face to face.
