Let not the waterflood overwhelm me, Neither let the deep swallow me up; And let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.


I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.


The beginning of strife is as when one letteth out water: Therefore leave off contention, before there be quarrelling.


A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: And such contentions are like the bars of a castle.


The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.


And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall beat off his fruit, from the flood of the River unto the brook of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel.


And knowing their thoughts he said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:


And after a little while they that stood by came and said to Peter, Of a truth thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.


But he again denied it. And after a little while again they that stood by said to Peter, Of a truth thou art one of them; for thou art a Galilaean.


But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.


And the Gileadites took the fords of Jordan against the Ephraimites: and it was so, that when any of the fugitives of Ephraim said, Let me go over, the men of Gilead said unto him, Art thou an Ephraimite? If he said, Nay;


And Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then died Jephthah the Gileadite, and was buried in one of the cities of Gilead.
