And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah: and all the singing men and singing women spake of Josiah in their lamentations, unto this day; and they made them an ordinance in Israel: and, behold, they are written in the lamentations.


Lo, let that night be barren; Let no joyful voice come therein


Let the stars of the twilight thereof be dark: Let it look for light, but have none; Neither let it behold the eyelids of the morning:


Canst thou draw out leviathan with a fish hook? Or press down his tongue with a cord?


None is so fierce that he dare stir him up: Who then is he that can stand before me?


When he raiseth himself up, the mighty are afraid: By reason of consternation they are beside themselves.


In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the swift serpent, and leviathan the crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.


Therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the Lord: Wailing shall be in all the broad ways; and they shall say in all the streets, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing.


and say, We piped unto you, and ye did not dance; we wailed, and ye did not mourn.


And they come to the house of the ruler of the synagogue; and he beholdeth a tumult, and many weeping and wailing greatly.
