How can anyone think that they are gods or call them gods? The Babylonians bring dishonor on their own gods.

Only a fool would think that these idols should be called gods! The Babylonians dishonor their own gods by deserting them when they are unable to help. For example, when the Babylonians see a person who cannot talk, they ask the god Bel to heal that person, as if Bel can really hear and understand.
