And whosoever shall not do according to the word of the king, he shall die.

And he ordered altars to be built, and temples, and idols, and he ordered the immolation of the flesh of swine and of unclean cattle,

The penalty for disobeying the king's decree was death.

Whoever doesn’t do according to the word of the king, he shall die.

Anyone who doesn't obey the king will be put to death.
