He plots mischief while on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he spurns not evil.


For they cannot sleep unless they have done wrong; they are robbed of sleep unless they have made some one stumble.


“Their feet are swift to shed blood,


So Joshua arose, and all the fighting men, to go up to Ai; and Joshua chose thirty thousand mighty men of valor, and sent them forth by night.


And he commanded them, “Behold, you shall lie in ambush against the city, behind it; do not go very far from the city, but hold yourselves all in readiness;


And he sent messengers to Abimelech at Arumah, saying, “Behold, Gaal the son of Ebed and his kinsmen have come to Shechem, and they are stirring up the city against you.


Then in the morning, as soon as the sun is up, rise early and rush upon the city; and when he and the men that are with him come out against you, you may do to them as occasion offers.”
