Is thy steadfast love declared in the grave, or thy faithfulness in Abaddon?


“For thus says the Lord God: When I make you a city laid waste, like the cities that are not inhabited, when I bring up the deep over you, and the great waters cover you,


And he led me round among them; and behold, there were very many upon the valley; and lo, they were very dry.


For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom he will.


Why is it thought incredible by any of you that God raises the dead?


as it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”—in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist.


But some one will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body do they come?”


If they were wise, they would understand this, they would discern their latter end!


“ ‘See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god beside me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand.


He considered that God was able to raise men even from the dead; hence, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back.


The Lord kills and brings to life; he brings down to Sheol and raises up.
