I want you to know, brethren, that I have often intended to come to you (but thus far have been prevented), in order that I may reap some harvest among you as well as among the rest of the Gentiles.


I want you to know, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,


If any one thinks that he is a prophet, or spiritual, he should acknowledge that what I am writing to you is a command of the Lord.


For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of the affliction we experienced in Asia; for we were so utterly, unbearably crushed that we despaired of life itself.


And his gifts were that some should be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,


But we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.


But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
