who dost still the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples;


Why, when I came, was there no man? When I called, was there no one to answer? Is my hand shortened, that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, by my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a desert; their fish stink for lack of water, and die of thirst.


Do you not fear me? says the Lord; Do you not tremble before me? I placed the sand as the bound for the sea, a perpetual barrier which it cannot pass; though the waves toss, they cannot prevail, though they roar, they cannot pass over it.


He rebukes the sea and makes it dry, he dries up all the rivers; Bashan and Carmel wither, the bloom of Lebanon fades.


but when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.”


And they went and woke him, saying, “Save, Lord; we are perishing.”


And he awoke and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.


But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him down in the midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm.


And he stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her; and immediately she rose and served them.


And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.”


He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and they marveled, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that he commands even wind and water, and they obey him?”
