While he was yet speaking, there came another, and said, “The Chaldeans formed three companies, and made a raid upon the camels and took them, and slew the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you.”


For he has crushed and abandoned the poor, he has seized a house which he did not build.


“If my land has cried out against me, and its furrows have wept together;


His harvest the hungry eat, and he takes it even out of thorns; and the thirsty pant after his wealth.


Remove not the ancient landmark which your fathers have set.


Do not remove an ancient landmark or enter the fields of the fatherless;


The princes of Judah have become like those who remove the landmark; upon them I will pour out my wrath like water.


“In the inheritance which you will hold in the land that the Lord your God gives you to possess, you shall not remove your neighbor's landmark, which the men of old have set.


“ ‘Cursed be he who removes his neighbor's landmark.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
