The angel of the Lord found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, the spring on the way to Shur.


They dwelt from Havilah to Shur, which is opposite Egypt in the direction of Assyria; he settled over against all his people.


He had seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she-asses, and very many servants; so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the east.


Then Moses led Israel onward from the Red Sea, and they went into the wilderness of Shur; they went three days in the wilderness and found no water.


Then they utterly destroyed all in the city, both men and women, young and old, oxen, sheep, and asses, with the edge of the sword.


Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have; do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.’ ”


And Saul defeated the Amalekites, from Havilah as far as Shur, which is east of Egypt.


And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.
