After this Absalom provided for himself a chariot and horses and fifty men to run ahead of him.


Now Adonijah son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, “I will be king.” He prepared for himself chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.


Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.


The beginning of strife is like letting out water, so stop before the quarrel breaks out.


Before destruction one’s heart is haughty, but humility goes before honor.


Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for you in the field; and after that build your house.


If the wise go to law with fools, there is ranting and ridicule without relief.


For I fear that when I come I may find you not as I wish and that you may find me not as you wish; I fear that there may perhaps be quarreling, jealousy, anger, selfishness, slander, gossip, conceit, and disorder.
