Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.

And some of the bystanders, when they heard it, said, This Man is calling for Elijah!

And some of them that stood there, when they heard it, said, This man calleth Elijah.

After hearing him, some standing there said, “He’s calling Elijah.”

Then certain ones who were standing and listening there said, "This man calls upon Elijah."

And some that stood there and heard, said: This man calleth Elias.

See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.

and if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah who is to come.

And about three o’clock Jesus cried with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

At once one of them ran and got a sponge, filled it with sour wine, put it on a stick, and gave it to him to drink.
