So they answered Jesus, “We do not know.” And he said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
When Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” After that no one dared to ask him any question.
When he said this, all his opponents were put to shame, and the entire crowd was rejoicing at all the wonderful things being done by him.
When they saw the man who had been cured standing beside them, they had nothing to say in opposition.
