Then he took a little child and put it among them, and taking it in his arms he said to them,

Jesus reached for a little child, placed him among the Twelve, and embraced him. Then he said,

"Whoever receives one such child in my name, receives me. And whoever receives me, receives not me, but him who sent me."

Whosoever shall receive one such child as this in my name, receiveth me. And whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.

He called a child, whom he put among them,

And he took them up in his arms, laid his hands on them, and blessed them.

He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, “Whoever wants to be first must be last of all and servant of all.”

“Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes not me but the one who sent me.”
