when he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the thunderbolt,


For he draws up the drops of water; he distills his mist in rain,


Whether for correction or for his land or for love, he causes it to happen.


“Who has cut a channel for the torrents of rain and a way for the thunderbolt,


He gives rain on the earth and sends waters on the fields;


He turns a desert into pools of water, a parched land into springs of water.


He it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth; he makes lightnings for the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.


The pastures of the wilderness overflow; the hills gird themselves with joy;


When he utters his voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, and he makes the mist rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.


Can any idols of the nations bring rain, or can the heavens give showers? Is it not you, O Lord our God? We set our hope on you, for it is you who do all this.
