So the accuser went out from the presence of the Lord and inflicted loathsome sores on Job from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head.
When I lie down I say, ‘When shall I rise?’ But the night is long, and I am full of tossing until dawn.
O my God, I cry by day, but you do not answer; and by night but find no rest.
I cry for help until morning; like a lion he breaks all my bones; from day to night you bring me to an end.
I hear, and I tremble within; my lips quiver at the sound. Rottenness enters into my bones, and my steps tremble beneath me. I wait quietly for the day of calamity to come upon the people who attack us.
