On that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: “Do not fear, O Zion; do not let your hands grow weak.


There they strengthened the souls of the disciples and encouraged them to continue in the faith, saying, “It is through many persecutions that we must enter the kingdom of God.”


If we are being afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation; if we are being consoled, it is for your consolation, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we are also suffering.


Therefore, since it is by God’s mercy that we are engaged in this ministry, we do not lose heart.


So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.


This is the reason that I, Paul, am a prisoner for Christ Jesus for the sake of you gentiles,


and shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel! Today you are drawing near to do battle against your enemies. Do not lose heart or be afraid or panic or be in dread of them,


in the same way also you should rejoice and rejoice together with me.


I am now rejoicing in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am completing what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church.


Brothers and sisters, do not be weary in doing what is right.
