So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed to him but a few days because of his love for her.


And his soul was drawn to Dinah daughter of Jacob; he loved the young woman and spoke tenderly to her.


the sons of God saw that they were fair, and they took wives for themselves of all that they chose.


It happened, late one afternoon when David rose from his couch and was walking about on the roof of the king’s house, that he saw from the roof a woman bathing; the woman was very beautiful.


Then Amnon was seized with a very great loathing for her; indeed, his loathing was even greater than the lust he had felt for her. Amnon said to her, “Get out!”


Amnon was so tormented that he made himself ill because of his sister Tamar, for she was a virgin, and it seemed impossible to Amnon to do anything to her.


There were born to Absalom three sons and one daughter whose name was Tamar; she was a beautiful woman.


King Solomon loved many foreign women along with the daughter of Pharaoh: Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Sidonian, and Hittite women,


the third Absalom, son of Maacah daughter of King Talmai of Geshur; the fourth Adonijah, son of Haggith;


All these were David’s sons, besides the sons of the concubines, and Tamar was their sister.


Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.


Do not desire her beauty in your heart, and do not let her capture you with her eyelashes,
