He put away the illicit priests out of the land and removed all the idols that his ancestors had made.


He committed all the sins that his father did before him; his heart was not true to the Lord his God, like the heart of his father David.


He walked in all the way of his father Asa; he did not turn aside from it, doing what was right in the sight of the Lord, yet the high places were not taken away, and the people still sacrificed and offered incense on the high places.


Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of his father David, except that he sacrificed and offered incense at the high places.


Nevertheless, the high places were not taken away; the people continued to sacrifice and make offerings on the high places.


He did what was right in the sight of the Lord, yet not like his ancestor David; in all things he did as his father Joash had done.


He did what was right in the sight of the Lord, just as his father Amaziah had done.


He did what was right in the sight of the Lord, just as his ancestor David had done.


He did what was right in the sight of the Lord and walked in all the way of his father David; he did not turn aside to the right or to the left.


So Abijah slept with his ancestors, and they buried him in the city of David. His son Asa succeeded him. In his days the land was quiet for ten years.


Asa cried to the Lord his God, “O Lord, there is no difference for you between helping the mighty and the weak. Help us, O Lord our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this multitude. O Lord, you are our God; let no mortal prevail against you.”


Asa did what was good and right in the sight of the Lord his God.


But the high places were not taken out of Israel. Nevertheless, the heart of Asa was true all his days.


He walked in the way of his father Asa and did not turn aside from it, doing what was right in the sight of the Lord.
