Psalm 31:1

Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my supplications in your faithfulness; answer me in your righteousness.


O my God, in you I trust; do not let me be put to shame; do not let my enemies exult over me.


Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause against an ungodly people; from those who are deceitful and unjust deliver me!


Kings shall be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. With their faces to the ground they shall bow down to you, and lick the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord; those who wait for me shall not be put to shame.


O Lord, in view of all your righteous acts, let your anger and wrath, we pray, turn away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain; because of our sins and the iniquities of our ancestors, Jerusalem and your people have become a disgrace among all our neighbors.


The scripture says, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.”


and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
