There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king's tribute, and that upon our lands and vineyards.


The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous showeth mercy, and giveth.


the owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.


then shall an oath of the Lord be between them both, that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbor's goods; and the owner of it shall accept thereof, and he shall not make it good.


If it be torn in pieces, then let him bring it for witness, and he shall not make good that which was torn.


But if the owner thereof be with it, he shall not make it good: if it be a hired thing, it came for his hire.


And he that killeth a beast shall make it good; beast for beast.


Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.


But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.


And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth aught unto his neighbor shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbor, or of his brother; because it is called the Lord's release.
