You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask of the Father in my name he will give you.


My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so you will be my disciples.


This is eternal life, that they may know yoʋ, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom yoʋ have sent.


I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that I have often intended to come to you (but have been hindered until the present time) so that I might have some fruit among you as well, just as I have had among the other Gentiles.


and so that he might be the father of those who are not only circumcised in the flesh, but who also walk in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had when he was uncircumcised.


Therefore we were buried with him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.


But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Christ everywhere.


For God, who commanded light to shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.


Therefore, whether we are at home or away, we aspire to be pleasing to him.


And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance so that you will always have everything you need to abound in every good work.


I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know him.


For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.


Therefore I, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling you have received,


until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, growing into maturity with a stature measured by Christ's fullness.


Carefully determine what is pleasing to the Lord.


See then that you walk carefully, not as unwise people but as wise,


and walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.


filled with the fruits of righteousness that come through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.


Only live as citizens in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear that you are standing firm in one spirit, striving together with one mind for the faith of the gospel,


I have received everything in full and have an abundance. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are an aroma of a sweet fragrance, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.


and not holding fast to the head, from whom the entire body, being supported and knit together by its joints and tendons, grows with a growth that is from God.


Therefore, just as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, continue to walk in him,


Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.


Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.


and testifying that you should walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory.


Finally, brothers, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus that, just as you learned from us how you ought to walk and to please God, you do so more and more.


No one serving as a soldier entangles himself in the affairs of civilian life, since he seeks to please the one who enlisted him.


Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work,


Our people must learn to devote themselves to good works in order to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitful.


By faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.


Do not neglect to do good and to share with others, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.


equip you in every good work so that you may do his will. May he accomplish in you what is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.


For if you possess these qualities and continue to grow in them, they will keep you from being ineffective and unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.


But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.


and receive from him whatever we ask, because we keep his commandments and do what is pleasing in his sight.


And we know that the Son of God has come and given us understanding so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.


They have testified of yoʋr love before the church, and yoʋ will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God.
