All of that made the king of Aram very angry. He sent for his officers. He said to them, “Tell me! Which of us is on the side of the king of Israel?”


They asked, “Where is the child who has been born to be king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose. Now we have come to worship him.”


So Herod called together all the chief priests of the people. He also called the teachers of the law. He asked them where the Messiah was going to be born.


“Jerusalem! Jerusalem! You kill the prophets and throw stones in order to kill those who are sent to you. Many times I have wanted to gather your people together. I have wanted to be like a hen who gathers her chicks under her wings. And you would not let me!

They were very upset by what the apostles were teaching the people. The apostles were saying that people can be raised from the dead. They said this can happen because Jesus rose from the dead.
