The Lord sent the prophet Nathan to David. When Nathan came to him, he said, “Two men lived in the same town. One was rich. The other was poor.

Moses brought the ark into the holy tent. He hung the curtain to hide the ark where the tablets of the covenant law are kept. Moses did it as the Lord had commanded him.


“My temple is still destroyed. But you are living in your houses that have beautiful wooden walls.”


His disciples remembered what had been written. It says, “My great love for your house will destroy me.” (Psalm 69:9)


David was blessed by God. So David asked if he could build a house for the God of Jacob.
