Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? Why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?


Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.

Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: For my soul trusteth in thee: Yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.


From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, When my heart is overwhelmed: Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.


For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.


In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: My sore ran in the night, and ceased not: My soul refused to be comforted.


They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, And consulted against thy hidden ones.


He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.


He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.


The name of the LORD is a strong tower: The righteous runneth into it, and is safe.


LORD, in trouble have they visited thee, they poured out a prayer when thy chastening was upon them.


Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.


And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.


O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!


For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
