And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.


Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.


And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.


A man's pride shall bring him low: But honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.


But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

How then can man be justified with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?


knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.


But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.


Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.


But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?


Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, And before honour is humility.


The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; And before honour is humility.


When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, there is lifting up; And he shall save the humble person.


And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.


Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly he was above them.


Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.


Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:


Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.


He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.


In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.


If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: If I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.


Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.


Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works.


And enter not into judgment with thy servant: For in thy sight shall no man living be justified.


For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.


For better it is that it be said unto thee, Come up hither; Than that thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the prince Whom thine eyes have seen.
