The people were thirsty for water there; and the people murmured against Moshe, and said, *Why have you brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us, our children, and our livestock with thirst?*


but you said, *No, for we will flee on horses;* therefore you will flee; and, *We will ride on the swift;* therefore those who pursue you will be swift.


who set out to go down into Egypt, and have not asked my advice; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Par`oh, and to take refuge in the shadow of Egypt!


Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, and trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they don't look to the Holy One of Yisra'el, and they don't seek the LORD!


My anguish, my anguish! I am pained at my very heart; my heart is disquieted in me; I can't hold my shalom; because you have heard, O my soul, the sound of the shofar, the alarm of war.


How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the shofar?


and they departed, and lived in Gerut-Kimaham, which is by Beit-Lechem, to go to enter into Egypt,


and they came into the land of Egypt; for they didn't obey the voice of the LORD: and they came to Tachpanches.


Why does the LORD bring us to this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will be a prey: wouldn't it be better for us to return into Egypt?


They said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.


is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, but you must needs make yourself also a prince over us?


Only he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he may multiply horses; because the LORD has said to you, You shall henceforth return no more that way.


and it happen, when he hears the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have shalom, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, to destroy the moist with the dry.
