The sons of Ya`akov came in from the field when they heard it. The men were grieved, and they were very angry, because he had done folly in Yisra'el in lying with Ya`akov's daughter; a which thing ought not to be done.


They took their livestock, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Kena`an, and came into Egypt--Ya`akov, and all his seed with him,


These are the names of the children of Yisra'el, who came into Egypt, Ya`akov and his sons: Re'uven, Ya`akov's firstborn.


Yisra'el also came into Egypt. Ya`akov sojourned in the land of Cham.


For thus says the Lord GOD, My people went down at the first into Egypt to sojourn there: and the Ashur has oppressed them without cause.
